A post that is mostly a video used to leave you with a picture and a link. Now it doesn't. In FeedBro, videos from Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube play in their own player right inside the reader.
What changed
- The video plays where you are reading. Open the article and press play. You stay in FeedBro instead of being sent to another app and having to find your way back.
- No repeated thumbnail. When a video has its player, the same picture is no longer shown again above it.
- A clear link when it can't play. If a platform won't let a video play outside its own site, you get a readable card with the title and a button that opens it, in light, dark and sepia themes alike.
- No pop-ups asking for the text. A video that plays in its own player no longer triggers messages saying the article text could not be fetched.
Where you will notice it
Most of all with feeds that publish video: a channel you follow, a public Instagram account (see following Instagram accounts), or a Facebook or TikTok page that you watch with Website Watch. Their posts arrive in the same list as your articles, and the videos play without leaving it.
Good to know
Each platform decides what can play outside its own site, so a few videos may still open on the platform itself. When that happens, the card tells you so and takes you there in one tap.
